Kick it out/Anti Racism
BOLTON WANDERERS joined communities of all races, cultures and religious beliefs in backing the unifying message of 'One Game, One Community' as part of the Kick It Out week
of action.
The week was co-ordinated by football's anti-racism campaign, Kick It Out, as part of the game's ongoing contribution to promote greater inclusion in the game.
The Week of Action held 700 events, including activities at all 92 professional clubs and conference and non-league clubs.
Bolton Wanderers were pleased to support the week as part of our commitment to promoting inclusion in the game and kicking racism out of football.
Wanderers' Manager Sammy Lee said: "Here at Bolton Wanderers Football Club we have a team of players which includes 18 different nationalities and has a mixture of ages, colours, religions and beliefs. However, we all work together with the same aim, and that is to win games of football.
We oppose any form of discrimination here and fully support all efforts made to stop it, not just for a 12 day period but all through the year, every year." He added.
Lord Herman Ouseley, Chairman of Kick It Out, added: "More than a million people joined hands during the week of action under the banner, 'One Game, One Community".
"The period highlighted football's popularity amongst communities stretching from the length and breadth of the country and celebrated the power the game has in bringing different people together”.
"We hope this show of unity will illustrate how football can lead the way in promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity." He continued.
